HOW TO: SILK PRESS USING KENRA PROFESSIONAL

The silk press is a method similar to the former press and curl for naturally curly or coily hair. It provides the appearance of having a relaxer without any harsh chemicals being added, making it easy to switch between styles. Executing this style requires proper care of the natural hair to ensure hair health and long-lasting benefits. Here is how to achieve a healthy and beautiful silk press using Kenra Professional products:

Step 1: Cleanse with a cleansing or clarifying shampoo and condition using the care regimen of your choice based on desired need and benefit. In this example, Kenra Platinum Prime Shampoo and Conditioner were used to cleanse the hair and lock in moisture for increased manageability and even product distribution.

Step 2: Apply a leave-in conditioner and use a paddle brush to detangle beginning at the ends and working up to the scalp.  Kenra Platinum Luxe One Leave-In is recommended for this step, providing opulent slip and softness while detangling. 

Step 3: Section into four quadrants and blow dry section by section in small subsections using medium to high tension at the scalp with a flat styling brush or medium sized round brush, concentrating on smoothing the hair from root to tip.
